Common Wealth Games

Abb iske baare mein mein kya bolu.. my blood boils whenever i hear the amount of money that has gone down the drains (literally) on this.

For once I liked Mani Shankar Aiyar! I too wish the games are a flop!

Now a days the scams are always in hundereds or thousands of crores! But still the public happily digests them!! Why?

We spend 997 crs on Jawahar lala nehru stadium 'renovation'. And the total liability in nuclear liability bill on operators and suppliers is Rs 500 crs. - does it cost only half as much to rennovate a city / state from nuclear disaster than what it costs to renovate a stadium?

Anand not Indian

Another great example of Indian government's callousness!!
Mr Sibal's ministry questions Anand's citizenship and disallows honorary doctorate degree being conferred upon him - during the International Congress for Mathematicians!

How much more lousy can one get?

We shunted out MF hussain, like this we deserve to loose Anand as well. In a nation with few heroes (esp. in sports) Anand is almost as big as Sachin tendulkar... but look how we treat our heroes. Shame of Indian Bureaucracy.

Nuclear Liability Bill

A tupenduous example of how government trying to pass a legislation using stealth to put criminally stupid conditions.

This editorial on Hindu captures the pathetic ways in which congress tried to pass the nuclear liability bill:
http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/lead/article592116.ece?homepage=true
"In a democracy, legislation by stealth will always create a backlash"
"Behind the unseemly word games the Manmohan Singh government has been playing over the language of the proposed nuclear liability bill lies a more dangerous conceit: that complex legislation with the potential to affect the lives of tens of millions of people can simply be pushed through with stealth, subterfuge and the barest minimum of consultation.
Not once but thrice have the government's managers been caught trying to fiddle with the bill in order to address the concerns of nuclear suppliers that are obviously so illegitimate nobody seems to have the political stomach to even try to convince the public about them"
